There they are. At least Ash and Sammy. I was surprised that at a little after seven there were no cats. But I flushed them out when I opened the window in the big room. They were on the driveway.

Still no sign of Coco. But she got a good bite to eat at around three in the morning.

The Times gives Stephen King's new book on the Kennedy assassination such an inviting book review, I may have to try this one out, but I often seem to say that about a King book and then let it pass me by, but maybe not this one.

A third cake breakfast in a row. You can thank the fact that I was jonesing for something sweet after dinner last night and went without. I'm not complaining. Just telling it like it is.

Sammy

The next-door neighbor is doing his lawn, and Sammy just continues to lie prettily on the chaise lounge, despite the heavy roar of the lawn machines. Maybe he has gotten used to it. Meanwhile, Coco and Ash doze together on the couch.

I have been meaning to read "The Exorcist" for about a year now, but it has never quite made the top of my stack. Apparently the author, William Peter Blatty, aside from become a star novelist is also something of a Hallween celebrity. He pens an interesting little column about all of this that seems appropriate to keep for our own Halloween festivities.

Incidentally, it may be just as well that I have held off on getting the novel, because he has made what sounds like a haunting addition to his classic novel, in celebration of the fortieth anniversary of his big hit. I am tight on money now, but I think it is now the next novel on top of my 'wanna read' list.

ice cream

Pop comes home with the ice cream sandwiches. If he didn't, I was going to ask for Rocky Road instead, and that way, when Friday comes, I'd ask for the cinnamon rolls. Maybe I'll ask for both this weekend anyway.

Pop suggested keeping the cats inside for Halloween evening. The thought never occurred to me, but it is a good idea, to play it safe. As fate would have it, they then came it at once all together for dinner, sealing the deal.

I slipped into zombie mode sometime during dinner. Like all the energy bled out of me, and I just want to doze for the next 48, 72 hours, watching movies or TV shows during more focused and coherent moments.

Maybe I am just romaticizing it, but I imagine it is because I feel dreadfully lonely. I am really zeroing out on LJ, and if I may say so myself, I have some really fun posts up. I guess it is just me. Too uncool. More than a little creepy maybe.

Well, I'm going to knock out my shower now, and then it will be close to the time to let the cats out. They are kind of bitchy over being penned in this evening.
