Whoa, so the heater does kick on. True, it's already seven-thirty, but I thought we were going to stay above that zone. The outdoor temperature is 45, not 35. It's quite wintry enough for me though.

Sammy got spooked by some barking coming from the backdoor neighbors. They have dogs gone. I hope my cats learn this the safe way. It's not like the cats can see into that yard through that wall of fencing.

There's a tumblr called "The land of rape and honey". Sounds promising, doesn't it. But it's more than nine-tenths gorefest.

Came across a couple of good pieces that counter some of the more familiar conservative smoke-screens, such as how they obfuscate issues of income inequality and climate change, and there is one about New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg in particular, but which deals incisively about how conservatives seek to switch the targets for our opprobrium and correection, from the banks to Congress, breaking down the housing and financial issues in a good quick read. I'll provide a taste and the links.

"A litle quiet today, Monk," Pi notes.

"I know. I have felt crowded and busy over trying to get some blogging posts done before Nostalgia Weekend tomorrow."

Daimon asks, "How is that working for you?"

"Not well. But it's not hard to shake it off. It's not like I am going to have to suffer a cut in pay, or risk alienating some e-buddies. All my problems should be thus."

Hearing some barking, I check on the cats, and am touched to see that all three lie together on that little old rug on the patio.

"Like I said, I'm not going to complain. Though, I do wish that I could accomplish something real in my life."

I don't know if it is a good idea to compare Occupy Wall Streeters with monkeys, but we have a nice study showing how deep our sense of unfairness may run. It's not just philosophy.
