I let Pop spook me into keeping the cats inside overnight, even though, at worst, the weathercast promised only a "light rain" at around three. The fact that I had all three cats inside at around ten, and only Ash was expressing an eagerness to go back outside, helped.

No rain fell. I have let the cats out now, but we may be in for some rain drama. The skies do look awful. I wanted the cats to get in a little exercise, and I just pray they won't be off into the neighborhood when a storm decides to hit.

Part four of Sylvia's date with Emile.

There was more small talk, more laughing, sidelong glances, more of the unspoken physical friction that makes each new conquest so delightful. In the air was the strong smell of masculinity which creates the ideal medium for me to exist in.

[...]

On the dance floor he held me close to him, the hard line of his penis taut against my stomach, my breasts aching firm against his chest. And it was like warm wine flooding through me, a sleepy, electric drowsiness. He nuzzled his face in my hair; kissed my cheek. "Don't look at me," he said. "I've just come out of a swimming pool, hot and wet." (God, I knew it would be like this.) He was looking at me intently, searchingly, and our eyes met. I went under twice; I was drowning; and he flicked his gaze away.

It has started raining. I went to check on Sammy and was caught by surprise. He'd apparently walked in it too, as I had to wipe his paws off, which he did a decent job of letting me do. Look: no blood!

We recently covered a Niall Ferguson piece on liberal and conservative perspectives on the inequality question in America, in which Ferguson gave the place of honor to Charles Murray's work on the subect. I have now come across Murray speaking for himself.

Although I cannot agree with the right-wing libertarian's ideals and policy prescriptions, I like his description of the great social divide in this country, using two fictional neighborhoods: Belmont is the upper-middle class neighborhood, and Fishtown is the lower-class one:

A great pizza, finally! I asked Pop to go a little early at eleven-thirty, to see if that would help. It could be a coincidence, but the pizza was hot this time.

Getting out my "Black Scorpion" DVDs, I thought to check Amazon reveiews to see what people have to say about the show, and I am happy to discover that the series is back in print and on sale. If I had the money, I would buy another copy for a back-up, in the event that they sell out and decline to produce another batch. But that is too much of a luxury as things stand.

Let's force a little chat. I am ahead on my blogging rounds, and I have spent too much time pursuing pretty girls, which is compelling but pointless, an instinctual illusion, especially when it can only lead to masturbation, as is the case here.

It has not been a day of heavy rain, but it is a bit icky, and it is just as well that I did not go downtown today. The big trip is tomorrow, and the problem with that is that it is suppose to be another rainy day. But that just means I will have to carry an umbrella, and that is not a big problem for me. I only hope the chicken fried rice is made to order, which is likely, as I cannot even remember the last time it was below par.

“Getting fucked and being owned are inseparably the same.”

-- Andrea Dworkin, "Intercourse"

It is practically impossible for me to pass over such a provocative quote. After checking out the Amazon reviews of the book, one gets the impression that this is a hypothetical proposition whose truth is only realized in a male supremacist society, as ours might be taken to be. The more well-known proposition from Dworkin is that all penetrative sex is rape. Accordingly, in a healthy society, sex would not be this negative. In a male supremacist society, sex is arguably perverted to reinforce male domination. We will leave aside Monk's own febrile predilections, who, after all, thinks a woman looks good in a collar. ;)
