bread for the ducks

Yup. I first thought that these critters get fed enough by over-indulgent park-goers. That was certainly the case when I was last making the circuit. But, no, and they are pretty hungry. And there are a lot fewer of them, too.
“Any idea why?”
No. But these cannot be the greatest living conditions. The water is very foul. I imagine they need to freshen it up at least a couple of times a year. Like a fish tank. Drain half and put in fresh water. I think I recall seeing something like that being done once, years ago.
I wish we treated animals better, but it’s not like we treat people very well.
“At least they are keeping up the park.”
True. One should appreciate the good that is there. It doesn’t happen by accident. It takes work and care. I do know so well the power of entropy and falling apart, being so much more intimately a part of my daily life.
