Pop has spent a good part of the afternoon cutting off the tree limbs that were running into the clothes line.

"And you let him? In his seventies."

Well, it seems dumb. We need a lot more tree-pruning, but this is where Pop feels he can save money. So, we may as well let it all hang out. Besides, he doesn't get started until twelve o'clock. It's almost July! But he doesn't get up from bed until ten o'clock.

"He has been spending his mornings outside lately, too, hasn't he?"

Yes, and it's funny. It's kind of like my jogging -

"You mean your walking?"

The beginning of summer is not the time to get interested in being more outdoorsy. But I guess you have to take advantage of the mood when it strikes. Should I really have waited until October?

"No, you waited long enough."

Exactly.

Chrome

I'm finally using the Chrome browser.

"What for?"

I was getting irritated with that virus or malware, and I decided that it was worth going through some trouble to see if it was only the IE browser that was infected, and that does indeed seem to be the case. It's a good thing the laptop came with Chrome pre-installed. It has given us another lease on life on this laptop.

"How is Chrome? Better? Worse?"

At first, I thought it was clearly inferior and was shocked that Google should do a poorer job than Microsuck. However, I have discovered how to use 'full screen', and I see that it has at least one convenient improvement, which is especially useful for hotlinking photos. You don't have to go through 'properties' and then copy & paste, but you can get it all done in one click right away.

"Considering how much you hotlink, that should a big luxury.'

Ahem, yes, it is.

"So, if you had a fresh start, no viruses anywhere, which would you prefer to use?"

Oooh, that's a good question! I am not sure yet. I think I need some more time on Chrome before I can answer that. But I will point out that Chrome also has an instant spell-check feature for wherever you are on the Web. For instance, when I am typing an entry on my blog, it will redline misspellings. It's not a first-rate spell-checker, but I do like the little help. But like I said, I need some more time before I develop a real conviction on the issue. I am so used to Internet Explorer.
