Finally, a good rain! Now this is a drought breaker. Coming down hard and long. It looks like we are going to have a full day of the stuff. I don’t think we have to worry about flooding. That ground is so dry and barren; it will drink an ocean of rain.

If it were not for my laziness, I might have got caught in the storm. When I got up it looked like the promised rain was not going to fall, or at least my expectations were so well-trained, and I was supposed to jog this morning. However, I did not get up until seven-twenty, and although it did not look rainy outside, I thought the ground was wet enough that it was best to skip the run, and I was feeling kind of beat up anyway. Although Sammy and the cats were not bad last night, my sleep was still a little rough.

Mitt Romney was speaking before a meeting of the NAACP, and he was trying to sell the absurd position that his presidency would be terrific for the African-American community. He got some strong, sustained booing.

Sugar tweeted, “I'm pretty sure he thinks the African-American Community is a place, like some island just off the coast of Florida.”

Damn, that’s good!

Though, if we were still e-friends, I might have taken another jab about where her heart really lies by asking how many blacks does she see in her circles, not including cleaning staff or restaurant workers. For her, too, all we aborigines and blacks may as well be on an island on the other side of the world or on the dark side of the moon.

Closing up the afternoon reading and blogging session, I think we have an answer about my browser preference: IE vs. Chrome.

This morning I was logging in to my accounts on the laptop, I got a Norton notice telling me that I needed to restart in order to finish a security fix. I thought I would check to see if this was about that IE-virus. This expectation had been disappointed before, but this time it was fixed!

I didn’t really go through a lot of inner-turmoil about which browser to use. I stuck with IE, after all.

For two main reasons.

One, despite the fact that Chrome makes it easier to copy the information needed to hotlink a picture, I find that the benefit is outweighed by the fact that Chrome does not give us a ‘properties’ option, nor an equally convenient way to see how big a picture is.

Two, whereas IE allows us to choose the zoom size once and for all pages, Chrome makes us have to select our preferred size for each and every page, which is a super hassle, and this bleeds into a quasi-third reason: it is not convenient to use the full-page option on Chrome. In full-page mode, Chrome does not allow you to easily switch to another window. You have to go in and out of full-page mode every time.

Of course, I have used IE from the beginning with our very first computer, and maybe I just failed to take advantage of the tools that Chrome provides. But you gotta go with what is easier and better.

I was going to add Ramen’s Cup of Noodles to the grocery list, but after googling it, I see that, healthwise, one may as well eat Twinkies or Doritos for a meal. What can I eat, guys?? Broccoli and spinach aren’t going to cut it.

I wish I could have put on the air-conditioner for an hour or so. It’s only 78 degrees outside, but it’s 86 in the house, and it’s not going to get cooler.

Daimon says, “I thought you weren’t going to blog about such little crap like this.”

I know. But what can I say? I’m feeeeling it.
