A September Morning
Sep. 12th, 2012 10:36 am1. This is the first day that I have given the cats the liberty to go back outside after their breakfast. Interestingly, only Sammy takes me up on it.
2. I no longer seem to be able to hook up with that dark cat down the road on my morning walks. Now there is always someone in the driveway in the truck, either coming or leaving, and I cannot see the cat anywhere.
3. Now that the air-conditioner is not coming on until later, the city/county decides to work on Annie's driveway across the street. With the windows open, we get to enjoy that symphony of drills and jackhammers and banging, and it otherwise would have been a gorgeous, relaxing autumn morning.
3-1. Ah, I just remembered my earmuffs, and it really does cut off all that noise but for the faintest murmur. These muffs are one of the best investments I have ever made. How I love a little quiet! Amazing is it not how something so simple can become such a rarefied luxury?
