Duck Pond

With the rainy and cold weather and the mows and the library trips, it is a little hard to get in my morning walks. If it were not for Pop delaying our Grocery Day, on account of his eye injury, I would have had to forget about today as well. I’m glad I made it out of bed early; I needed the outing and the quality time with my Orwell book: the fresh outdoors and a prod to tumble the thoughts and help me feel soulful.

I also learned something new at the Duck Pond. I saw some city workers loading up some feeders. I never noticed the feeders before. They are a bit inconspicuous and I might have missed them, but I wonder if they are new. The deal, though, is that you have to feed the feeders quarters in order to feed the ducks, and you only get a little handful of the little round pellets. I had my change purse with me, for my house key, and I could not resist dropping a couple of bucks worth of quarters to make the ducks excited and happy. A bit pricey for me.

I also noticed for the first time the signs that they had posted with the feeders enjoining us from feeding the ducks food from home. You know: like bread. Well, I don’t have a bank-load of quarters; so, I don’t think I’ll be following that notice very carefully, and we will have to see how toothy is their enforcement of that little provision.

Ah, one of the brightest starlets of my youth. With age she has been suffering a bit of a comedown in her film career. This has been true for some years, but I guess she has finally become philosophical about it. She's not a bad-looking middle-age woman though.

So, we get the story behind the DeVito breakup with Rhea Perlman. Not a big surprise. One wonders: how big is his dick?

And here’s the thing: if Mitt Romney wins the election, the G.O.P. will surely consider its economic ideas vindicated. In other words, politically good things may be about to happen to very bad ideas. And if that’s how it plays out, the American people will pay the price.

I don't know if I would call this career enhancement for Miley, but I guess a guest shot on any semi-successful network show is worth doing.
