A funny pattern seems to be emerging. On mornings when I have no intention to take a walk, I wake up early, closer to six o'clock, like this morning. When I want to take my walk, I will wake up and see it is already after seven. Maybe my subconscious is telling me that I don't really like these walks anymore? It is true that I have not been feeling for a while the uptick in my sense of physical vitality after my walks. But I am definitely nowhere near wanting to quit.

Outside it is warm and blue and April. And I have to digest Darwin, Marx, and Wagner. I’d like to rip out my brain and set it to assimilating the printed hieroglyphics in this book, and send my body down to the tennis courts in animal imbecility to jerk muscles in proper coordination and feel only the bestial and sensual delight of sun on skin.
