Cats

monk111: (Cats)
So much for being able to enjoy quiet nights when the cats are kept indoors. Having access to the office no longer awes them into a nice, night-long quiet. I knew it couldn’t last, but I really wish I could have been wrong on this one. Cats wailing in the wee hours of the night seriously detracts from your quality of life, making a hash of your day as you go through the motions in a living dead kind of way.

“Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. … Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle.”

-- Thomas Jefferson

Yes, some things never change. Jefferson, it should be remembered, also helped to make the papers that way in his own political gamesmanship. Of course, newspapers or no, there is no forum than can purify human nature. The truth will also be unable to enjoy refuge in the law and in the courts. The truth is certainly not welcome in politics. Truth is perhaps freest in the realm of art, where the stakes are not so high, just people playing with meaningfulness.
