A nice morning for my walk. My back was barely bothering me. However, one time I stepped up for a curb and owwwww! I was scared. I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to make it back home on my own power. But my back righted itself in moments. I just needed to avoid taking steps, but walk on level streets. Then, on the way back home from the pond. I started hurrying across a busy intersection, and with the lengthening and quickening of my stride, owwww! I was frozen still in pain. This seemed especially hazardous in the middle of a pretty busy street. My back is not a crippling problem at this point, but its fragility and pain is still my constant companion. I cannot forget about it yet.
Norton expired on the laptop. Fortunately, Pop still considers the Internet to be a necessity, and he does not hesitate to whip out the credit card. But it really killed my morning, waiting for him to get out of bed, along with the time it takes to figure out what product I need and to get it installed. I dare not navigate LiveJournal without wearing a very strong condom.
While Nina is in hiding, she still needs to make some money. She gets a job at a detective agency, which seems suitably noir. However, she is not going to primarily play detective. She is putting her photography to use and is being paid to snap some pictures for evidence for cases. In this excerpt, it’s her first day, and she is meeting another man, one of the private dicks, who will also prove to be fun and trouble in her life.
