Haircut

It is done! My hair is cut. It is nice to have that out of my way for the next six months.

This is the first time I went with my beard and mustache. I figured that I am paying for it; why should I feel obligated to put in some extra work?

I just need to make a point of not holding off until the middle of summer to take care of this. Long walks under the July sun are not very nice.

Before I left in the morning, I remembered that I needed to borrow Pop’s watch. I was running a little late, and he was getting ready for a shower, I guess. He did not mind showing himself naked to me. I was surprised to learn that I was wrong about his penis. I thought he had a decent-sized one, one that looked nice even when limp and asleep, which had even upset me that he could not have handed that down to me. However, I was wrong. It looks as pitiful as mine. When he turns around, you can really see the effects of aging with that heavy wrinkling of the ass.

When was the last time I rode the bus? Was it the last time I got a haircut? No, I think Pop might have driven me. So, it could have been at least a couple of years. The fare went up a dime, but more than that, the busses have upgraded the technology. We get a transfer card instead of a slip of paper. I guess it’s neater to deal with and it’s more clear, with a stamp of the time on when the card expires.

For my little reading, I picked up Henry Fielding’s “Jonathan Wild”. Since I started reading Schmidt’s “Novel: A Biography”, I have developed an appetite to read a lot of these old classics. But where to fit it in? Then I realized, if my right foot was not bothering me, my walks would be the perfect opportunity to get in this reading. But my right foot does not seem to want to heal completely.
