INTERVIEWER

When did you become aware of your talent for poetry? What triggered it?

LOGUE

My elocution mistress, Miss Crowe. As a child I had a deep voice. People would comment. My mother wanted me to be a priest or an actor, but seeing that there wasn’t much chance of the priesthood, she plumped for acting and sent me for elocution lessons. Miss Crowe was an attractive woman. I used to sit on the floor and look up her skirt—and that’s how I became a poet.

Cats

Another stray cat has found its way to our patio and the food plate. At first I thought it was one of ours, but it did look darker. The cat has Willy's colors. I'm pretty sure it is a female. The eyes are so sweet and soft - and needy. I had too shoo it away.

I am reminded of Orangey and Whitey. I haven't seen them in a long time. I guess they are gone for good, either finding happier hunting grounds in another neighborhood, or else death has freed them from life's harsh struggles. We will have to see if this new one will prove a little persistent in trying to make a place for herself here.
