“Masculinity does, femininity is.”

-- D. W. Winnicott

An intriguing concept. It might have sprung from a poem by Robert Graves on Greek mythology, titled “Woman Is, Man Does”.

Looking out the window this morning, Monk grumbles, "Shit, this isn't just a drizzle." We got a good overnight rain, and it is raining still. It must have been a pretty heavy storm, because we have a pond in the front yard and the back yard is a lake. Poor cats! They are going to be kept inside the house for another few days, even if that was the last of the rain. Poor us, for the cats will make us pay for this.
