“I just think it’s kind of lame. I feel like I hang out with my friends and they’re so busy taking pictures of what they’re doing and putting them on Facebook that they’re not really enjoying what they’re doing. You’re going to look back and have a million pictures, but you’re not going to be in any of them. Because you’re not having fun, you’re too busy clicking away. So I think: just enjoy the moment you’re in, and stop telling people about it. Just enjoy it.”

-- Miley Cyrus

This is from five years ago, when Miley was still a sweet teenager. I am culling quotations from my porn blog. I did not realize that I had a number of good lines posted there. So, some of these celebrity quotes are dated, possibly repeated, but I don't want to lose them.

Blubberage

Closing the windows for the air-conditioner, I see Pop's new bathroom scale and decide to give it a spin: 221 pounds. "Oh, God!" Such blubberage.

I remember when I was anxious about crossing over the 200-pound line a little over ten years ago. What I would give to be back there now! I remember, 200 was going to be my red line: whenever I hit 200, that was going to be it for sodas and sweets until I am back under 200 pounds. I still had a little optimism back then.

As I recall, it was when things fell apart with Gabe that I lost track of my weight, but that is just a romantic-sounding excuse. Self-discipline and an iron will were never my strengths. Still, a sex life can be very motivational, if you can have one.

"If I had to summarize the G.O.P.’s attitude on domestic policy, it would be that no good deed goes unpunished. Try to help the unfortunate, support the economy in hard times, or limit pollution, and you will face the wrath of the invisible hand. The only way to thrive, the right insists, is to be nice to the rich and cruel to the poor, while letting corporations do as they please."
