The Temple of Apollo

In ancient Greece, inscribed over the entrance to the Temple of Apollo at Delphi were two injunctions: "Know thyself" along with "Not too much!" Everyone knows the first one, but, sadly, I think the second one has been obscured in ignorance for just about everyone, except perhaps classical scholars, and it really is key.
