monk111: (Effulgent Days)
A new development in this porch bird-life. One can sometimes see only a beak sticking out of the nest, as two other birds come and go. Monk once caught the nested bird looking as though it were swallowing something after one of the other birds returned. Not knowing better, he thinks that this may be part of some hatching phase, and the two birds are feeding the expectant female. One winces in tender pain over the thought of such social dependency, the dear fragility of wondrous life.

"UGGH! I think that I'm going to retch!" Daimon bends over with his arms across his gut.

Monk sighs, "Can't I at least try to have a high poetic moment once in a while!?"

"I think that it would be better not to, if this is the best that you can do. I just really don't think that it's you, especially since we know that you have to write this up while watching Merit of '8th Street Latinas' getting banged."

Pi steps in, "Now, Daimon, you know perfectly well that a person has a number of dimensions to one's being. These people are intellectually complex enough that they can readily give expression to a number of different experiential pathways. Don't be such an asshole! One can have sexual feelings and needs as well as poetic and philosophic aspirations. Indeed, the former often feeds the latter in terms of that emotional energy."

Monk is awed, "Wow, thanks Pi, that was great!"

Pi waves this off, "Please! Boy, that Merit really is a cute little thing isn't she?"

Monk nods wistfully, "Oh, yeah."

"Wouldn't you like to nest HER?!" Nudge, nudge.

These people? I don't remember making these characters supernatural. Sure, Daimon originated as the Devil's advocate,, but I thought I left that conceit behind a long time ago. Though, maybe I can work with that better, rather than trying to work with characters that are suppose to be real people - real people with real needs and real histories and real personal prejudices and issues. Not that I expect to try to make it work. I'll doubtlessly stick to blathering away.
