monk111: (Rainy)
A relatively decent night's sleep. Only three bathroom runs. I made up a good bit of my sleep deficit, but definitely not all of it.

A more dreamy night, too, but nothing really worth keeping, though in one I seemed to be a kind of super-thief, and then when I was at a convenience store with mom and pop, someone stole our car.

That's some bark! It even sounds like a different dog. I hope the neighbor dog didn't get sick in that storm. More, I hope they didn't get another dog, since my cats apparently trust Neighbor Dog and may not be prepared for a rude surprise.
monk111: (Shoot me)
Great, Pop went on and started his car for a bit under a minute, and I just discovered that the exhaust pipes right into the big room with the windows open. Remember, he has taken to parking the car rear-first, and he likes to park it right up to the house, just barely more than a foot from the window. Wonderful, right?

Genesis

I almost forgot it's time to go back to book-blogging Genesis. Chapter eight of "1984" took a lot of time. I was also hoping to do Mark, but my Wright book fell flat on me, and it's going to be a while before I can get another exegetical text on Mark, especially since I am aching to get a book on rhythm in poetry. And I do have all the Genesis stuff I need on hand.
monk111: (Cats)
I should take out my old mini-binoculars more often to watch the cats in the back yard. Hey, we're feeding them and trying to take care of them in bad weather: we may as well get more out of them. Their cute faces alone are worth the show.

"Fall"

To the celebration of all slain hope.

~
I didn't think I was going to really like watching "Fall" again, about the broken love affair between the cabbie/writer and the supermodel, but it really is like a poem.
monk111: (Cats)
Whoa, a cat is dozing in the old-trash-can-turned-shelter! It's Ash. I cannot remember the last time a cat has done that. Was it Willy? I wonder what prompted this. I wish the idea would stick. It's a good place to be in when a storm is coming down. Maybe Coco and Sammy will get the message, too.

TruthSee

Saving a pic on my porn, I see I have a couple of new comments, but, no, Titsgirl has not come back. It's someone new looking for an add, whom we'll call TruthSee. I think this is a gal, but I don't know if I would bet a lot of money on it. Moreoever, she doesn't really post anything, as it seems to be a journal used for role-playing. If she doesn't bother commenting on my journal, I may let her go before long.

*******

I've opened up a few more entries to put my best foot forward.

With the cats outside and Pop on his rounds, I was moved to do something about all the muck that has been accumulating on the kitchen floor. It has been so bad for so long, I marvel that Pop has refrained from saying something sooner.
monk111: (Strip)
Pop left me the kitchen at six-thirty, so I used that big chicken breast patty and fried up some fries and gave Swanson another night off.
monk111: (Noir Detective)
I forgot that I need to change the water-cooler. It's one of the lesser little chores, but it throws you off that ten minutes that you would just as soon have to yourself.

Tuesday

It's Tuesday. How nice it is not to have to water the lawn!
monk111: (Shoot me)
Those fries seem to be frying a second time in my chest. My body is obviously telling me that such food is not a good idea. Shouldn't I listen to my body, before it becomes more emphatic? But I don't know how to eat healthy!
monk111: (Rainy)
I'm trying more diligently to give Walt Whitman's "Leaves of Grass" more of a fair shot, but I just cannot see the attraction. I'm about to give up on it, again.
monk111: (Strip)

I thought she was worth a separate post. I still remember the big drama on her banning from LJ.
