Letting the cats out this morning, I am kind of glad that it is still only 38 degrees, so that they know just how cold it is outside, and they might appreciate being indoors, instead of regarding it as a punishment.

*******

Five minutes later and they are not rushing to come back inside. Pretty tough. But hours of that has to bite even into a cat.

I have actually been browsing for video games, again, something that can run on laptops, thinking that such might be even better than watching movies and TV shows. Yes, I even think about chess. As well as Donkey Kong!

However, when it comes to doing something active, even game-like, it seems to me that my blogging life is enough. A video game kills some hours, but that is all you get for it, whereas I can at least build up my journal when it comes to my Internet harvesting, as well as work on my writing.

So, I come back to the idea that movies and shows should work well for me, giving me something to sit back with and relax for a few minutes here and there. Nevertheless, there remains that itch for a truly absorbing interactive experience, even if it does not build onto anything.

*******

The laptop actually comes with a built-in chess game, and I even started a game, but, man, the feeling that I was wasting time and getting no genuine pleasure from it! I have a long Obama speech to parse.

Something sexy and interactive might be fun, but no strategizing. I just don't have that sort of brain. Writing a good sentence is enough of a strategic task for me.

Oh, oh, Pop has many pages of coupons in his hands and he is on his way out. He thinks he is holding money in his hands, money that he got by outsmarting the system. He will likely return with a hoard of goods that we don't need or want. Well, maybe he will come home with some sweetbread, something we could use.

I'm surprised Pop hasn't made it back yet. I wonder if he's getting groceries for Lorie. I think I'd prefer that, provided that we aren't short-changed tomorrow.

I am trying a new twist on the daily routine. You know how much I dislike late showers, and it is not always convenient to shower in the afternoon. Well, it has occurred to me to shower after my meal, before getting back on the Internet, possibly showering before the meal, as there is often a sort of dead twenty minutes or so after I give up the big room and before my TV dinner is ready, which time I have been using until now to get in a little more reading.
