Woke up at one-thirty. Coco and Ash were ready to eat. Then I slept good and did not wake up until five-thirty, and none of the cats were there. Here is where I was unable to fall back asleep. I gave up close to six-thirty. Coco and Ash were ready to come in. But no sign of Sammy all night. I am afraid that he was waiting at three and four in the morning in vain and gave up, and we missed each other, but I don't know. I am a little worried.

Monk feels the pain of his marginalization, as Jack and Jill and Pop visit Mother while he is bound home.

It is noted in an entry a few days later, on Tuesday, that she returns and tries to quit smoking. It is interesting to me that I should have felt a need to visit her. In recent years, I can imagine myself being indifferent, not truly feeling much of a personal bond, not with her or anyone else, that there just is not that love. It is not that I would not have cared whether she lives or dies, but that I would not have felt a need to go out of my way to be with her. I would have enjoyed the opportunity to have the house to myself.

devastation
Dec. 10th, 2011 09:15 pmI stepped out to take the trash out, and, man, I was surprised by the devastation. So, you don't need a heavy, loud storm; a steady, persistent rain will do you nicely.
I am glad to see that Neighbor Dog seems to be in the house. He certainly is not in that little pen. It's not freezing, but what mess and discomfort.

I was wrong about Neighbor Dog. During a bathroom run in the middle of the night, I heard him barking. At least it is not especially cold. An unwanted animal. He was so made to be part of a loving family.
