Winston goes on to relate his job of fraudulently forging history at the Ministry of Truth. True to her character, Julia is not excited by this testimony of Big Brother’s lying ways. Winston also relates the story about Jones, Aaronson, and Rutherford, and “the momentous slip of paper which he had once held between his fingers”, but this too does not make any bigger of an impression on her than it did to me.

'Were they friends of yours?' she said.

'No, I never knew them. They were Inner Party members. Besides, they were far older men than I was. They belonged to the old days, before the Revolution. I barely knew them by sight.'

'Then what was there to worry about? People are being killed off all the time, aren't they?'

What a deep nap. It was only fifteen, twenty minutes, but when Pop pulled up in the driveway, I found myself struggling to orient myself. Was in night? Where was I? What time is it?

While I am blurting, let it be noted that I have been a bit distracted since Pop came home yesterday in the late afternoon. He bought an e-reader, a Kindle. We haven’t downloaded anything, and it will be a milestone if we figure the thing out. I’m not even giving it any real attention, though there are some dirty stories that are available for download, and they are cheap or even free. But this isn’t what has gotten me a little excited.

As part of the deal, Pop has gotten into Amazon’s prime membership club. Aside from free two-day shipping, this also gives us access to free videos. The selection is a little limited, but there are some choices, which is more than one can say for their free books. I’m watching the original, foreign version of “The Girl with the Dragoon Tattoo”. A little hot.

I don’t really understand this purchase. It’s two-hundred dollars, not counting Prime membership. I think he just feels an itch to buy nice electronic gadgets, and Vic has one of these Kindles. And it was on sale. I’m not going to complain. I’m just glad that he got something that I can benefit from, though I wonder how he can financially survive with such free spending.

Wow! Well, I seriously doubt the American version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" will play out that punch and rape scene. I had to take a break for a wank on that one.
