Too Summery

A little too summery on the walk home from my library trip. Surely we have at least one more freeze coming our way before winter gives up on us completely. But here we are: the beginning of March. Too warm. I’m a little scared. This summer may be a monster. For all our Internet gadgetry, I am fervently hoping that our old-technology air-conditioner will carry us through yet another wretched season. Every year the climate seems to grow less congenial.

Twitter may be a direct way to communicate with fan but it can also get you in hot water when you are considered a teen role model, like Miley Cyrus. The singer is getting into some scalding hot water with Christians over an image she tweeted baring quotes from a scientist.

With millions of young, impressionable followers, Cyrus tweeted what can be construed as controversial quotes from a theoretical physicist who favors science over religion. Keep in mind that Miss Miley was raised a Christian, which turns this into Christian right wing scandal.

Okay, the 'forget Jesus' line is a bit aggressive, but it is a lovely little argument. Of course, we are talking about the Cbristian right-wing, who are excited about the prospect of banning contraceptives from America. Funny world.

I'm reading "Heart of Darkness" on the Kindle before going to bed, and I check to see what it is like to watch a movie on the little screen, being in the middle of "The Girl Who Played with Fire", and, wow, I am so in love with that, the coziness of it. One cannot really write on the little gadget, since typing is a real circus act, but you can do just about everything else that you would do on the Internet.

Pop and I are late coming to this fun technology, so that there is no point in sharing this with my few blogging buddies, but I am glad we finally made it here. I don't know how he is able to carry us as well as he does on his little income, but thank god! One can almost overlook the absence of a sex life.
