Another blurty day? This random number generator does not seem very random. But I'll go with it.

That light rain forecasted for around four in the morning didn't fall. I purposfully put little food on the cat plate last night, so that the cats would be eager to come inside in the morning. Oops!

I thought that was a wrong number. Pop says that the Dish guy is coming. An early job. Maybe they won't ruin my morning reading session in the big room.

Pop is getting a new satellite receiver. They are installing in now. It occurs to me that I am going to lose all of my recorded movies.

At first, this seems like a terrible blow. Am I going to get another shot at an uncensored "Deathwish 2", the one where the maid and the daughter get it? But, then again, it's not like I regularly watched those recordings. For the past couple of weeks, I had pretty much given up on watching all my recorded movies, preferring to watch recorded news programs instead. So, as a problem, it's no biggie.

It is well after eleven, and the Dish guy is still at it, and I doubt that he has yet found his rightful course on the problem. So, yeah, the whole morning reading session is shot.

But I'm not sure that it is a problem. I have had the office computer to myself, and I am finishing up my Hamlet post. I would have preferred a regular morning, but it is hardly a disaster.

I trust we will have TV programming before long. Pop pays too big a monthly bill for us not to.

Whatever Hamletian ambiguity may exist in response to the arrival of the players, it is clear that there is in it a genuine joy for Hamlet as an obvious theater enthusiast, and this perhaps breeds a little creativity into his pressed and strained mind, a freeing up.

I got the big room back in time for my nap, and the afternoon reading session has been proceeding apace.

I am even ahead enough in my blogging that I am getting some work done on the exegetical material for "Magic Mountain".

And, yes, we have zero recorded programs now with the new receiver. So, we rebuild the collection.

It has occurred to me that one precious thing we have lost with the recorded programs are those segments from Spanish TV, that morning show that featured tight teens swaying and shaking and dancing in little bikinis. That is not something you see a lot of on TV, and I am afraid that I probably never will again.

However, I am happy to say, as things are going, I cannot really complain of the loss. The Internet and Tumblr more than make up for that loss.

the new DVR

Having no movies nor news shows on the new DVR, I was thinking about kicking off a few episodes of "Black Scorpion". However, I had the channel set on Elvis radio, and I was enjoying the sound of that, so I kept to that.
