downtown for a convention

Pop has gone. He said that Linda was downtown for a convention, and he was talking to her on the phone about it, and he had expressed some interest in going when I returned from my own downtown trip yesterday.

But I don't suppose I will have the house to myself any more than if he was just doing his regularly daily rounds. Even so, I gave some of the worst parts of the floor a bit of a mop-swiping. It's a wonder Pop has not been getting on my case.
