A little tension and drama with Pop over lunch. He was set to take over the kitchen at about a quarter after twelve, the time when I am ready to make my lunch.

Ordinarily, by itself, this would not be a big deal, but I had just made a big decision to make lunch my biggest meal of the day, precisely because I can get the kitchen to myself more readily. Pop readily takes his dinner at around six-thirty, so that I cannot do any serious cooking, which was not much of a problem because I was content to stick to TV dinners, which only have to be heated in the oven, so that there are no serious kitchen clashes.

With dinner just consisting of spaghetti or a pot pie or sandwiches, something light and easy.

In fact, I had even found confirmation on the Web supporting the idea of a bigger lunch.

There wasn’t a fight or anything. Pop, per usual these days, seems almost beatifically tolerant of me. It is just my own nerves.
