so cool

One nice thing about this raiyn weather: it's so cool. I had to struggle a little against the idea of putting on sweatpants this morning.

my bookshelves

Feels funny. And neat. I no longer have to perform a delicate balancing act on my tippy toes to get at my bookshelves in my room. Mind you, I still have yet to make it look nice and neat, but at least those piles of books are no longer there and in my way.

to bake chicken

I am so glad that I finally broke away from Swanson’s chicken dinners. After all these years, ever since I came back home to stay. It’s a lot more trouble to bake chicken in the oven and to whip up some side dishes, but the taste and quality of the food is easily worth it. And I am cooking enough chicken for two meals, which helps to make the chore manageable.

I have been flirting with the idea of getting my old chicken fried rice concoction back into the routine. Just flirting. Nowhere close to making that happen. I don’t even know if we still have the cookbook that I used. But such flirtation is a good first step to making something real.
