my show blog
Aug. 20th, 2012 07:27 amAs much as I tell myself that it doesn't matter, that I am just storing away shiny gems from my cyberspace travels, the absence of any friendly activity on my show blog continues to be dispiriting, making my enterprise feel ridiculously pointless.

"There are so many awesome people on the Twitter! I LOVE IT HERE."
-- Sugar Tweet
It probably doesn't help to be looking in the window and seeing Sugar's constant e-party. I should stop doing that. I have at times enjoyed temporary success in keeping myself away, but I obviously always suffer a relapse. If at first you do not succeed, fail and fail again!

"Criminal Minds"
Aug. 20th, 2012 11:01 amFinished season four this morning. It probably was the best of the four years. I don’t know if it would supply all of the episodes in a list of the top ten episodes overall, but it might be close.
Not a bad cliffhanger. It’s Special Agent Hodge who gets shot this time as the screen goes black. For a moment, I was thinking that I may have to buy the next episode after all, but then I realized that the show is too contrived for me to really care.
It was fun, but I think I have had my fill. Though, out of idle curiosity, I may try to record some of the episodes of season eight, the season beginning very soon on TV, if it has not already begun. After all, it is free.
However, I still like having a TV series to turn to during my meals, and I am thinking again that season two of "Cheers" would be worth buying. For now, I will make do with recorded movies, since I am tight on money right now and need to order a book or two. Fortunately, I have a number of movies backlogged thanks to the time spent on "Criminal Minds".

Lightly but raining
Aug. 20th, 2012 08:08 pmI had let the cats outside, thinking that since it did not rain last night, we were presumably through with the rainy weather, but I noticed over dinner that it was looking grimly overcast outside, and before I can even fire up Pop's computer to check the weather, I see it has started raining. Lightly but raining. All three cats were there and came in, though I had to go out and grab Coco.
And no one is forecasting rain. There doesn't seem to be a lot of point in checking these forecasts. I think global warming has blown out all their workable models, and we do just as well to look out the window and judge the weather for ourselves.
