the dogs and the old routine

Taking out the cat ordure and getting the newspaper, I walk around a bit and think about the dogs and the old routine. The ground is saturated, but I still would have taken Princess and Bo outside to take care of their business; indeed, I would even take them out in the rain. We gave up on using newspapers when we left Bay Horse, since it did little to save the house from becoming a hazard zone. And I remember the part of the old routine in which I would grab a towel to wipe down the dogs' paws when we came inside. The memory makes me smile.
