I was hoping that we already got alll our rain, but the forecasters called this correctly too, and we are receiving another good dose of heavy rain.

I was hoping to let the cats out this evening. They have been so good, especially Sammy. I am postively at a loss for why Sammy has not been yowling his head off. It is like he is positively housebroken and subservient to his mater's will. I know that's not so. Cats are not dogs, and even dogs keep a little will of their own.

I am afraid that this will be at least another couple of nights of being penned up indoors for the cats, and that is really asking too much of Sammy. I hardly dare hope.

The flooding out back is actually starting to look a little threatening, with the water pushing onto the patio, and the rain is still coming down strong.

Guess who just sauntered in all cheery and pleased with himself! When the car pulled into the driveway, it occurred to me that there may be a Cowboys game this afternoon, and my fears were warranted. The game starts at three.

That means I am limited to the small rooms all afternoon and all evening. However, after having all this time to myself, I guess I should not complain too much. I just hope there won't be any guests.

I keep hearing great things about Showtime's "Homeland" series with Claire Danes. Being a little short of money, and after reconsidering the strange and unlikely plot, I decided to blow cold on it and forget about the show, especially since it looked like there was no way that I was going to record all of season one before hand.

However, after reading that article in the Times this morning, my interest was rearoused, and it occurred to me that I can start recording season two without watching any of the episodes until after I see season one, and maybe I will just buy the damn thing. The price is down to twenty dollars. We'll see how my finances look after my library trip this week.

Hey, Obama loves the show!
