Autumn

In the wee hours of the morning, I woke up to find that it was getting rather cold. The winds were blowing strongly. I shut off the ceiling fan. I think summer is finally losing its grip on us, and this is true autumn.

Cats

Oh, look! There's a cat at my feet.... And there's another one, and another! Somebody break out the cat-traps! We're infested with cats!

The Evolution of Libraries

A new library has opened in my neck of the woods: The Bexar County Bibliotech Library. What a pleasant surprise to learn that it is the latest model for our digital age. I think it is book-free, in terms of the paper-and-covers kind. It is entirely digital. I don't get why you would even need a building for people to download e-books. Couldn't you do that over the Internet? Well, I guess I am too old learn these new tricks. I have actually come to like my Kindle and reading e-books, but for me it is merely a luxury, an added convenience, an extra option. My reading life will most likely always be primarily rooted in trees, and I kind of like that connection.

Mow

Coco is crying up a storm. I guess she sees that it has turned into a lovely afternoon. How would you like to be the one who has to mow the lawn? Yup, I think I am going to tackle that heavy chore. I hate to sacrifice the one day I have the house to myself for that, but maybe it will be good to get something useful done. It will be nice to get this behind me.

Accomplished

I got it done. The mow. I was going to get greedy and try to take care of my shave too, in preparation for a haircut, but it was getting late.

As a reward, I'm going to lost myself in GTA for two or three hours this evening. I've been readily heavily into Nutting's "Tampa" over the past few nights, and it might be a good idea to take a break from that and let it regain some freshness. Some GTA in the evening is a good way to take advantage of having the house to myself. I don't mind getting more value out my money either.
