A quick shot of acid reflux at five in the morning. I think I will have to forget about the sweet breakfast and save the chocolate cake for after-lunch dessert.

Making sure which book is next on my book-blogging rotation, I see that it has been three months since I last worked on "1984". This was a little shocking. That is too much time in between hits. But I am not sure how I can meaningfully shrink that time. I have overfilled my plate. I think I am just going to live with it. It doesn't really matter. I'm just killing time and boredom, right?

A ground-cracking peal of thunder! I rush to the kitchen sliding-door. I had let Ash outside just ten minutes before. She was still out there and readily came back inside.

It actually rains. There is even some hail thrown in.

It was not a full-fledged storm, but it seemed like more than a passing, forgettable shower. It doesn't look like there is any chance of more rain in today's forecast. So, I am left with the question about letting the cats out. The ground is wet enough that I am inclined to think not. Yet, it is not so bad that if the cats are noise and cry a lot, I could change my mind.

Joel introduced Johnson about halfway through the show Friday night (March 21), saying Johnson was part of one of the best bands he'd ever seen live. The packed arena erupted when Joel and his band began playing the rock anthem with Johnson on lead vocals.

Terry Eagleton has a new book out called "Culture and the Death of God". We get some Nietzsche discussion, which is usually fun, to romp about the inherent meaninglessness of life.
