It's almost eleven and I don't have any cats inside, and I really do want to mow tonight.

I decide to go out and make a grab for them. Ash and Sammy do not give me too much trouble. Coco remains outside, which is not surprising. She has ever been more willful. Interestingly, Sammy tends to be the easiest. He makes me think of Willy, leading me to wonder if the male more readily bonds with his caregiver.

Pop relates that the man who did some of our electrical work died a couple of months ago. Mr. Garza. He was quite old and died in his sleep. His daughter was fixing him breakfast and went to wake him up.
Pop was calling about our problem with the microwave oven: the way we cannot use it without worrying about blowing a circuit when we use another appliance on another socket across the kitchen. Pop said he is tired of that problem.
We also have another little household problem. Our remote-controls will not work on the TVs. It is a mystery to us. This is first and we cannot begin to make sense of what happened. It is as though Dish might have sent software updates and there is this bug. Funny thing, my remote does work. It seems to offend basic logic. But we know how helpless we are when things breaks down on us. Someone else is going to have to fix it for us.

I was in the middle of mowing the back, going inside to get a drink of water and get a couple of garbage bags, when I see Pop parking the car off to the side of the driveway. I know what it means, but I have to ask, “Is someone coming over?”
Kay is coming over, and Pop is not just preparing for tomorrow; she is coming tonight. I’m a little agitated, because I have the cats inside, and I still have most of the lawn to finish.
I catch a break, though. I finish before she arrives and get the cats out without any problems.
Later, when I get out of the shower and make myself a sandwich, Kay is seated in the kitchen watching TV. She relates on her own initiative that “this was not a planned visit.” She is having trouble with her Blue Tooth, and she missed the manager at the store, which I suppose is near here, and she is saving herself some trouble by coming here and spending the night.
It was very nice of her to explain. I suppose she knows that I am not altogether happy about all these visits. It takes some pressure off my mind. I trust she will not be here for the rest of the week, but maybe I shouldn’t get too cocky. I wouldn't want to underestimate Pop's romantic prowess and seductive powers.
