Another four o'clock morning. Bah, I thought five o'clock mornings were bad. I got in some good reading, though. I waited until seven to try to get in some sleep this time and enjoyed more success, getting in an hour and a half of decent sack time.

I actually had to cut that down-time short, because this would be the morning when the Dish guy is coming for another fine-tuning.

Look at your body -
A painted puppet, a poor toy
Of jointed parts ready to collapse,
A diseased and suffering thing
With a head full of false imaginings.

“The more we know about the universe, the more meaningless it appears.”

-- Steven Weinberg, Nobel Prize-winning physicist

These quotes come from Thomas Ligotti’s “The Conspiracy Against the Human Race”. Mr. Ligotti is actually a horror-fiction writer, but this is one of his non-fiction works, expressing the pessimist philosophy of meaninglessnessk, in which human life is seen as an evolutionary mistake. The ideal, according to Ligotti and this philosophy, would be suicide, for all humanity, or at the very least to stop giving birth to new sufferers. So, I have a number of good quotes to share.

Diet

Yeah, about that diet thing ... it isn't working out.

Pop came home with some freshly baked sugar cookies, and he also had a coupon for some Church's chicken. Well, I had to have a coke with that. I am not made of stone.

Besides, I cannot see how I am supposed to live without Pop anyway, and it's not as though he has many years left to live. I do not need to worry that much about my health. I am too used to eating the way that I do.

As for vomiting in the middle of the night in the middle of my sleep, I will have to take my chances. If it becomes a frequent problem, I can start popping a Pepcid-AC before I go to bed.
