In my Amazon browsing, I came across Mark Landler’s “Alter Egos: Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and the Twilight Struggle Over American Power”, which came out in the spring. The focus is on the relationship between Obama and Hillary as president and secretary of state in shaping our foreign policy. The excerpt looks fun, kind of novel-like, giving us a bit of a personal look at these historic figures. Moreover, I had just watched Obama and Hillary in their first joint-campaign venture. I decided it was time to take a little break from literature and Thomas Mann.
