Petting Sammy when he comes inside, I notice a roughness on his ear, like clotted dirt. I try to scrape it off, which he doesn't like at all. A little later, he jumps up on the table as I'm refreshing the water dish, and I decide to take a closer look at that ear under the kitchen light, and I see it's not clotted dirt. It looks like a scratch wound. My first thought is that it may be related to that little dent on the crown of his head that we noted a couple of weeks ago or so, except that this looks fresher, but this may be my fault for the little scraping I did. Male cats: you have to worry about them more, I think.

my parents
Oct. 5th, 2011 09:51 amPop did make an issue out of the broken elephant. It wasn't a bad storm, but neither was it a "Oh, it's nothing!" either.
He even talks about how it's expensive. Later, when I pointed out that the grey elephant I bought a long time ago was probably more expensive and cost only about ten dollars, he says that his cost twelve dollars.
He even asks if I was careless. I somehow failed to point out that, having to open and close the window hundreds of times a year, having to go through the items on that stand, this is bound to happen. I was just so annoyed and flummoxed. He can just be such an ass. To think that my parents were my primary educators in my childhood: it's enough to make me cry.
