four o'clock morning

A four o'clock morning, but why? I'll get in some reading and try sleep again, maybe by five-thirty.

To need only four hours of sleep

Pop would pick this morning to blare his country & western noise at seven sharp. It is hard not to feel that this is personal. On the other hand, since he doesn't go to bed until the small hours of the morning, it is not like he is enjoying an eight-hour sleep. On the hour hand, he really may be one of those people who only needs four hours of sleep. I like to think it is because he never thinks and so his brain never really gets worn and tired, but I believe some geniuses also have this trait. It is a pity that he could not at least give me that for an inheritance, looking at all the other shit I have had to carry all my life. To need only four hours of sleep strikes me as being a little like a superpower.

a wintry pall

Policing the yard for trash day. This is a wintry pall. With biting wind. I think it is suppose to warm up again directly. Not too much I hope. This is still only January, but summer can never be too far from one's south Texas mind.

I hate to think of what life would be like if I had to go back to journaling my own empty days. I am too used to being able to share the cool and interesting things I come across on the Internet. The big media corporations can protect their movies and music, but leave us our LOLcats and copypasta news items, as well as our porn of course.
