That rain didn't come. The grass is not even dewy. But the crying! I swear Sammy is looking to have a swimming accident.

Only at six in the morning does it look like Sammy is ready to call it a night and get some sleep.

And then Pop wakes up at six-thirty.

I even slept in the big room, since Pop went to bed early last night. I thought it might keep Sammy quieter, giving the cats access to the big room and my being with them. But obviously not.

At least it must have kept the house cooler, leaving the window in the big room open all night. But talk about a small advantage.

Is good sleep too much to ask for?

I needed to reapportion a picture to fit on my show blog, and it finally occurred to me to search for a website that will do that calculation for me, and I found it:

An essential blogging tool!

I am due to work on an Old Journal entry this afternoon, but I am going to let it pass, preferring to focus that much more on the book blogging.

As I recall, when it comes to the 1991 entries, the next one is about an argument with Mother, and although there may be worse ways to spend an afternoon, I cannot do that to myself, not today.

I thought about going to the Blurty entries, as I am up to that part where I have joined Debate Forum and I am starting to make contact with others, such as Furtive and Sugar, but I remember how unsatisfying I was finding even those entries, as I left so much in silence, that which was supposed to be such a high point in my life. All in all, I’d rather do more book-blogging.

We may not have been received that promised and needed rain last night, but as if to make up for the disappointment, it has been a wonderfully overcast and breezy day. I only wish that I could have had one good solid hour of sleep.

Lorie came here at around five, and three hours later, she is still here. They have been sitting out on the patio, drinking and conversing. It had been a while since she has stopped off here like this. Not too intrusive. And I suppose it helps to keep the old man ticking and up and about.

But it is a little challenging to clock in some kitchen time and get my after-dinner chores done.
